Analyst, Sales, Asset Management

Position Description

This position will be responsible for helping develop Asset Management’s sales and distribution strategy for external institutional, corporate and distribution clients (i.E. investors and distributors who are not part of the CITIC Group) predominantly located outside China. The short-term focus is expected to be on Hong Kong and ASEAN, but in time could extend more broadly in Asia Pacific (Korea, Japan, India and Australia), the Middle East and eventually into Europe.

Building external client relationships and distribution capability is Asset Management’s top business priority for 2024. For the right candidate this position will offer significant career development opportunities, and the potential for growth into broader leadership positions and responsibilities within Asset Management.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

• To develop a strong knowledge of client needs and demonstrate a clear understanding of Asset Management’s products and services.
  
• Cultivate strong working relationships with external clients.
  
• Identify and address the challenges of marketing asset management products and services from a predominantly China-focused asset manager to regional and global clients.
  
• Facilitate distribution strategy for Asset Management’s products and services, and achieve measurable progress in clients.
  

Requirements

• Degree holder, major in business or finance related subjects.
  
• 3 to 7 years of relevant sales experience in an asset management or other applicable financial services business line.
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Strong sales mentality and obvious drive, energy and desire to meet clients, develop relationships and ultimately raise assets.
  
• Clear understanding of business responsibilities and how to manage client demands while also delivering on business objectives.
  
• Strong sense of personal accountability, diligence, initiative and responsibility for owning issues through to resolution, self-motivated and able to work independently.
  
• Keen to work and able to thrive in a fast-growing business with a very broad range of Asset Management business lines.
  
• Business level Mandarin and English.
