The Group operates Singapore’s national debit scheme enabling customers of DBS Bank/POSB, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and UOB to make payments using their ATM cards or mobile devices at more than 130,000 acceptance points in the country as well as online payments.




Postion Summary


The Application Support Engineer will be part of a team of engineers who will be required to play a crucial role in troubleshooting, resolving technical issues, and carrying out day to day operational activities primarily responsible for providing application support to a suite of Payments System applications in production to ensure maximum service uptime.




The incumbent should be proficient in Java and Open System applications and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.




Key Responsibilities


  • Provide quality day-to-day L2 Production support for Java/Web-based applications, troubleshooting, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions
  • Coordinate and support infrastructure maintenance &
    security patching activities
  • Manage new application releases, adhering to the best practices of the release management process
  • Collaborate with various teams including Development, Infrastructure, Vendors, Security and Change management teams, to provide seamless support for the business
  • Manage Production issues by responding in a timely per the Service Level Agreement with the Business
  • Enhance existing support process to maintain/improve service level &
    quality
  • Monitor application performance with ELK tools and identify improvement areas
  • Document support processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
  • Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support


Requirements


  • Knowledge of Java programming, with experience in various frameworks such as Spring Framework and Hibernate &
    others
  • Familiarity with web servers (e.G., Apache Tomcat, Jboss, JBCS &
    httpd) and monitoring tools
  • Experience with Linux/Unix systems, including shell scripting and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in Git for code management
  • Understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP protocols, and security best practices
  • ServiceNow experience for incident, change, and problem management
  • ELK monitoring setup and configuration proficiency
  • SQL and database management system experience (e.G., MySQL, Oracle)
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Relevant certifications (e.G., Java, ITIL, ServiceNow) are a plus
  • Any experience in Banking and Financial Services segment preferred with at least 5 years of working experience in Java and Open System applications
