Key Responsibilities and Challenges



Skills required


  • Combination of senior legal and business skills.
  • Capable of advising the Asia Banking and South Asia/SEA Capital Markets Group on relevant and specific legal issues, including emerging issues such as innovation and FinTech.
  • Able to proactively identify strategic opportunities in Banking and Capital Markets, e.G., potential clients, products and thought leadership.
  • Able to create strategy/plans/content to assist broader firm in engaging with our Banking and Capital Markets clients, as well as supporting meetings with clients as needed.
  • Capable of presenting to, and liaising and building good relationships with, senior partners and clients, our Banking Client Relationship Management teams, and Innovation Team, and with lawyers both in-practice and cross-practice.


Responsibilities


  • Group strategy review and recommendations, defining both Groups priorities, sharing strategy through engagement across the firm.
  • Supporting client targeting (including practice targets), analysis and development of client
    Relationships, facilitating cross-selling (e.G., developing collateral and presentations).
  • Advising on products and market positioning.
  • Co-ordinating regional tech teams to ensure effective communication of opportunities and relevant knowhow and marketing materials including promoting our capability in new areas (e.G., FinTech and digital transformation).
  • Raising our profile in the market (e.G., PR and press comment, thought leadership campaigns and digital marketing).
  • Co-ordinating support from associates in Banking and Capital Markets and other relevant departments and business services support to drive initiatives above.
  • Co-ordination with Global Managers for Banking, Capital Markets, and relevant adjacent groups and sectors.
  • Developing an Asia Banking and Capital Markets group community, facilitating greater knowledge-sharing, collaboration and cross-selling across practices, geographies, and sectors.


Location and Support


  • Role is within both the Banking and Capital Markets teams but requires a strong Banking alignment.
  • Role woud be supported by our Banking Client Relationship Management teams, Asia Business Development and Marketing Team and the breadth of Linklaters’ general resources (e.G., in relation to knowhow, marketing support, tactical intelligence, etc.).
