Assistant Superintendent, Construction

Duties &
Responsibilities

1. Ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with the latest revised drawings, isometrics, specifications, standards and procedures.
   
2. Plan adequate manpower and equipment to meet monthly production target.
   
3. Monitor progress achieved, troubleshoot and solve any problems encountered.
   
4. To co-ordinate execution of all site construction activities e.G. fabrication, installation, punch-clearing, hydro-test and flushing to meet schedules.
   
5. Ensure that accurate field reporting by the Construction Supervisors for Systems Section to provide reports.
   
6. Ensure that workers are provided with healthy and safe working environment.
   
7. Supervise and deploy a team of supervisor, foreman and construction workers.
   
8. Establish standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of equipment and overseas maintenance of plant buildings.
   
9. Assist the Superintendent, Construction in managing the execution activities of construction projects to achieve cost-effectiveness and safety, and to meet or exceed customers' expectation of quality and delivery requirements.
   
10. Assist the Superintendent, Construction in developing detailed work plans and schedules for the whole project and for each individual work discipline basing on the project scope and the framework outlined in the project execution and contingency plan.
    

Qualification &
Experience Generally Required

1. Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Civil/Chemical Engineering or its equivalent.
   
2. Able to complete project within budget and schedule.
   
3. At least five (5) years relevant experience in the same capacity, preferably in similar or related industries.
   
4. Preferably good in both written and spoken English.
   
5. Good technical competence.
   
6. Good leadership qualities.
   
7. Good communication skills.
   
8. Meticulous.
   
9. Able to interpret Engineering Drawings.
