Description


The Debug Project is looking to ramp up our mosquito production systems, release, and monitoring including the support of field and partner sites. To drive this initiative, Debug is looking to hire an Automation Hardware Test Engineer who has significant experience in production operations, worked in an entrepreneurial setting and displayed leadership capabilities.




As an Automation Hardware Test Engineer, you will be part of a small energetic team of mosquito biologists, software engineers, and automation experts working to develop better ways to reduce the impact of mosquito-borne diseases. Being responsible for building and maintaining quality systems for all processes and products, you will be central to the assembly, deployment, and maintenance of Debug technology across multiple global release programs;
ensuring effective, efficient, and consistent quality products at all sites.The Automation Hardware Test Engineer is responsible for the build-out and maintenance of a large-scale automated mass rearing facility in Singapore. The Automation Test Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all of the industrial automation equipment is operating in good condition and that the facility is running efficiently.




Additionally, the Automation Hardware Test Engineer works alongside a team of local hardware test technicians to troubleshoot existing automation infrastructure, working closely with cross functional teams to identify root cause and address failures. An outstanding Automation Hardware Test Engineer must not only have robust hands-on experience with leadership qualities but also be adept at pushing through roadblocks and obstacles even when they are daunting.




Responsibilities


  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot robot systems with complex mechanical, electrical and pneumatic components. Diagnose issues identified by our monitoring software and execute equipment maintenance regularly.
  • Oversee technical projects, identify and evaluate risks, develop/ monitor work schedules, ensure teamwork and smooth completion to projects.
  • Maintain and organize work environment, from documentation to tools and communication channels,enabling quick responses to issues and efficient information retrieval.
  • Conduct routine audits of systems to discover vulnerabilities or areas for improvement to prevent issues from escalating and disrupting operations.
  • Actively seek and gather feedback on system performance for future product improvements. Proactively inform users of upcoming changes or improvements, and encourage continuous feedback loop.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • At least 5+ years of experience as a hardware test technician carrying out hardware development, engineering tests, equipment assembly, maintenance, inventory, and equipment operation.
  • Ability to adapt to constant changes, wear multiple hats, strategically prioritize efforts and facilitate seamless collaboration
  • Enthusiastic and innovative, self-starter who displays strong leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in general electrical and mechanical machine assembly, understanding of common hand tools, and experience with hardware testing, process validation, or software testing.
  • Proficiency in computer and controller skills and automation dashboard analysis, with ability to diagnose and assess hardware failures, predict downtime, and perform required repairs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to a cross functional audience, including non-technical members


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry
  • Experience with test methodologies, planning, execution, as a lead, individual contributor or a supporting role.
  • Team oriented, self motivated and capable of working independently
