Data Analytics Engineer

SUMMARY
You will work with our analyst teams and translate questions from different business areas into automated data analytics solutions. In this role, you are the interface between business-focused analysts and technology-focused data engineers. You are going to work with a wide variety of different data, such as geospatial, commodity trading or financial market data.
Our data platform follows the Lakehouse approach and is mainly based on Azure Databricks and Tableau.
RESPONSIBLITIES
You will support different teams by translating business-related questions into actionable data-backed answers.
- Develop and implement analytical models using Python, PySpark and/or SQL
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis
- Define data requirements for our data engineering team, who add data sources to our platform
- Support analyst teams in creating data visualizations using Tableau
- Be a sparring partner for strategic alignment of our data platform, i.E. discuss future use-cases, data models, etc.
EXPERIENCE &
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a team player who quickly picks up on complex business problems, structures and reduces complexity, and works with minimal guidance.
- Working experience in shipping, trading or trading is nice to have.
- Strong cultural, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record in data analysis, data storytelling and visualization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Experience in using Azure Databricks and Tableau will be an advantage.
