Data Engineer / Consultant

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer/Consultant with expertise in data engineering, data modeling, and a good understanding of data layer and API integrations. The ideal candidate will have experience in building scalable data pipelines, designing efficient data models, and integrating various data sources to support our clients' business intelligence and analytics efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines to process data from multiple sources.
  
• Create and optimise data models for efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis.
  
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data platforms.
  
• Collaborate with project management and development teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  
• Develop and maintain documentation for data pipelines, data models, and data integration processes.
  
• Work closely with API developers to integrate external and internal data sources through API gateways.
  
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering and data modeling.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology
  
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and non-relational databases.
  
• Experience with data modeling techniques and tools.
  
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java
  
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services.
  
• Understanding of API design and development, including RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  
• Familiar with data warehousing solutions like Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
  
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and processes.
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  
• Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and libraries.
  
• Understanding of data governance and compliance standards (e.G., GDPR, CCPA).
  
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
