1 year contract, subject to renewal

About the Job

The Database Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and patching/vulnerability assessment of critical Microsoft SQL/Oracle server systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of corporate applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Manage Microsoft SQL &
  Oracle server databasesthrough multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
  
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  
• Perform vulnerability/risk assessment and patching of MS SQL/Oracle security/functional patches onto Production and Non Production environment.
  
• Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document charges.
  
• Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  
• Perform scheduled maintenance (DB patching/Upgrades) and support release deployment activities after hours.
  
• Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship.
  
• Any other ancillary tasks or works as and when requested and assigned by the Company.
  

Job Requirements:

• 
  
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  
• At least 1 year of MS SQL &
  Oracle database administration experience.
  
• Operational and Customer service focus.
  
• Ability to manage and prioritize own workload. Have good planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  
• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  
• Experience with backups, restoring and recovery models.
  
• Knowledge in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL &
  Oracle servers.
  
• Experienced in performing vulnerability assessment &
  MS SQL/Oracle patching.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
  
• Positive attitude, a team player to support the team.
