As a DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) BIM Coordinator, you will be responsible for producing and overseeing the integration of DfMA principles with Building Information Modelling (BIM) workflows. Your role will involve ensuring the quality of drawings and BIM models produced by BIM Modellers and Subcontractors, attending coordination meetings, coordinating with stakeholders to maintain design intent, and implementing BIM standards and protocols. Additionally, you will provide technical support and training to the DfMA team, conduct audits on models, resolve clashes or conflicts, and prepare detailed reports on BIM model quality and progress. An understanding of Mechanical and Electrical (M&
E) services will be essential to effectively coordinate these aspects within the BIM environment.




Roles and Responsibilities:


  1. Produce and oversee the quality of drawings and BIM models produced by BIM Modellers and Subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project standards, specifications, and DfMA principles.
  2. Attend all coordination meetings related to design, representing BIM Modellers and Subcontractors and actively participating in discussions to support project objectives.
  3. Produce ad-hoc drawings not within BIM Modellers and Subcontractors' scope to address project requirements and maintain design continuity as needed.
  4. Coordinate between various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, BIM Modellers, Subcontractors, and suppliers, to ensure alignment with design intent and project goals, particularly concerning M&
    E services.
  5. Implement and maintain BIM standards and protocols, including file management, naming conventions, and information exchange requirements, to optimize project collaboration and efficiency.
  6. Conduct regular audits on BIM models to verify compliance with project standards, accuracy, completeness, and coordination among disciplines, including M&
    E services.
  7. Provide technical support and training to the DfMA team on BIM software and workflows, promoting proficiency and best practices in model creation and management, with a focus on integrating M&
    E services.
  8. Facilitate the integration of DfMA processes with BIM workflows, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle, especially regarding M&
    E coordination.
  9. Identify and resolve clashes or conflicts in the BIM models, collaborating with stakeholders to develop solutions and mitigate risks to project delivery, prioritizing M&
    E coordination.
  10. Prepare detailed reports on the quality and progress of BIM models, documenting issues, resolutions, and recommendations for continuous improvement, with specific attention to M&
    E services.
  11. Ensure all BIM data is properly documented, organized, and accessible to relevant parties, maintaining data integrity and facilitating informed decision-making, including regarding M&
    E systems.


Qualifications:


  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of DfMA principles and their application in construction projects, with specific knowledge of M&
    E services coordination.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Experience in coordinating complex design projects and managing BIM workflows is preferred, with a focus on M&
    E coordination.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices related to BIM implementation and management.
  • Certification in BIM, such as Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) or equivalent, is advantageous.
