Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our team in Shenzhen, China. This role focuses on the development and management of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, taking them from prototype stages to mass production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering or science, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex projects efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and manage schedules for NPI development builds.
- Guide projects through all stages from prototypes to mass production.
Setting Expectations:
- Establish clear expectations and deliverables for project phases.
- Ensure alignment with company objectives.
Goal Definition:
- Define concise project goals and objectives.
- Maintain team focus and motivation.
Facilitating Collaboration:
- Lead meetings to achieve project goals.
- Foster collaboration and innovation among team members.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Liaise between product designers and the internal development team.
- Facilitate discussions on design concepts, technical trade-offs, and engineering solutions.
Customer Engagement:
- Communicate with customers to understand their requirements.
- Relay feedback to internal process engineering and quality teams.
Resource Management:
- Lead cross-functional teams in resource management.
- Oversee equipment procurement, hiring, and shop floor management.
Supplier Relations:
- Maintain relationships with strategic suppliers.
- Ensure quality, supply, and cost objectives are met.
Cost Management:
- Monitor program expenses.
- Ensure projects stay within budget.
Issue Resolution:
- Arrange and lead reviews or meetings to address issues.
- Develop optimal solutions to meet customer needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science, with a preference for candidates with knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to simplify complex issues into actionable plans.
- Strong relationship-building skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in both English and Mandarin (verbal and written) to effectively communicate with Chinese counterparts.
