JOB DESCRIPTION

To assist Staff Nurses in carrying out their duties.
To supervise Nursing Aides and Healthcare Assistants.
To supervise and assist in the bathing and feeding of residents.
To supervise and help in the general tidying of the home.
To attend to residents’ call bells and needs promptly.
To conduct rounds and to check on residents’ condition regularly.
To ensure that the residents are kept comfortable, dry and clean at all times.
To perform all nursing treatment including the administration of medications under the supervision of a registered nurse.
To report any abnormalities detected to the registered nurse in charge.
To assist in recreational and social programs.
To provide general supervision of residents and to handle emergencies.
To perform any other duties as assigned by her Supervisor.
Ensure the tidiness &
cleanliness of Dr. &
treatment room
Assist Dr., Podiatrist, Speech Therapist, Dietician.
Participate in MDR, QA Programs and Fire drill.
Update Infocare system with residents’ latest updates.
Assign duties to care staff.
Check housekeeping e.G torn linen for mending, faulty equipment for repairs.
Overall supervision of tidiness of case notes.
Check and update all nursing charts e.G. temp chart, bowel chart
Check and order weekly stock e.G dressing items, stationery.
Assist and supervise nursing aides in wound dressing.
Assist SRN in cleaning of medication trolley.
Checking ward apparatus is functioning e.G oxygen concentrator, suction machine, and emergency trolley.
