Executive Manager/ Assistant Director (Workplace Safety And Health Division)

[What the role is]
As the Executive Manager/ Assistant Director for the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Division, you will be part of the team to galvanise NEA in building a strong WSH culture, and to achieve and sustain an effective WSH management system. As a WSH champion, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining corporate-wide WSH policies, manuals and frameworks in compliance to the WSH Act and its subsidiary regulations. You will also work in partnership with the line departments, WSH committees and WSH offices to identify, evaluate and mitigate WSH risks effectively.
[What you will be working on]
Key responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, maintain and review the corporate-level WSH policy, management system and governance for NEA.
• Review and translate Workplace Safety and Health, Fire Safety, Environment Protection and other statutory requirements into corporate policies, procedures and management system manuals;
  while ensuring it is current, maintained and communicated.
• Establish and manage WSH as a key strategic risk, which includes developing and maintaining mitigation plans and risk outlook for WSH, for the purpose of reporting to Board, Risk Committees and WSH management meetings.
• Representative and advisor for internal WSH taskforce and workgroups
• Representative and liaison for external WSH committees (e.G. MSE Family WSH committee, MOM's multi-agency safety taskforce)
• Support and facilitate WSH audits with external auditors and prepare for ISO certifications.
• Support and facilitate the validation of ground compliance to established authorised documents and WSH management system. This includes driving WSH inspections with the line departments, WSH committees and WSH offices.
• Provide advice and WSH expertise to line departments, WSH committees and WSH offices on adherence to WSH regulations.

[What we are looking for]
The job might be for you if you possess the following qualities:

• Good knowledge of the Singapore WSH Act, Environmental Protection and Fire Safety legislations, Codes of Practice and Singapore Standards.
• Has at least 5 years of work experience, preferably in the areas of WSH functions.
• Excellent writing, communications and presentation skills.
• Mature, independent and resourceful.
• Enjoys learning, problem solving and collaborating with others.
• Able to work in a fast-paced and highly volatile environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.
• Registered WSH Officer or Specialist Diploma in WSH (or equivalent) will have an added advantage.
• Experience as an Occupational Hygiene Officer will have an added advantage.
• Trained practitioner of ISO9001/45001 will also have added advantage.
• As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
