SUMMARY

The operations concierge must be well versed in the current state of the funeral profession. This position requires a high degree of professionalism and integrity and an ability to deal with situations calmly and with tact. The company will expect a high level of commitment and loyalty and operations concierge must be prepared to work for as long as is reasonably necessary to accomplish his/her tasks. All staff are expected to comply with the company policies and procedures as set out in the Employee Handbook, Procedures Manual and Health &
Safety Manual. This position interacts directly with bereaved families during their time of need and is expected to collaborate with our fellow partners and work closely with the funeral operations team in creating and maintaining a premier level of client family satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You report to the funeral coordinator supervisor or operations manger. Your work may or may not be designated to a specific location, but in any event, there must be a willingness to assist at other locations when the need arises. Assist Funeral Directors and colleagues in providing a customer focused service that not only meets but goes beyond client expectation. Assist the Funeral Directors in all funeral duties required to fulfil client’s instruction.

Primary Roles:

  • Liaise with Funeral Directors to ensure timely delivery of transport
  • Effecting the removal of the deceased from the place of death and bringing them into the care centre in a caring and compassionate manner
  • Dress, apply make up, and perform encoffinment of the deceased
  • Take responsibility for the general running, tidiness and cleanliness of the working area, mortuary and our premises, including receiving coffins and other deliveries
  • Preparing the departed for a burial or cremation, including placing them in caskets and preparing them for viewings.
  • Prepare visitation and viewing in our Showers Of Love Sanctuary
  • Loading and Unloading stocks involving in a funeral
  • Set up funeral at funeral venue accordingly
  • Work closely with entire funeral operations team and assist funeral directors to ensure that services run smoothly and as planned
  • Guide family through the process
  • Carry out the functions of a driver/pallbearer/ceremonial team


  • Assisting with the decoration and maintenance of the company’s premises
  • Transport the deceased to the funeral wake venue
  • Involved in the funeral ceremony on funeral day
  • Receive cremated remains into our care, transfer into the selected casket/urn as required and liaise with the funeral directors to ensure records are kept up to date.
  • Arrange and carry out interments of cremated remains.
  • Carry out in waitering services at night services &
    overnight vigil services
  • Ensure family’s meets and demands are met accordingly
  • Assist with cremations and the processing and packaging of cremated remains
  • Transporting and delivery of items

Requirements

  • Background in manual work To be able to do manual duties. Ability to lift 40 kgs +
  • Compassion. Death is a delicate and emotional matter. Funeral service workers must be able to treat clients with care and sympathy in their time of loss.
  • Time-management skills. Funeral service workers must be able to handle numerous tasks for multiple customers, often over a short timeframe.
  • Physically fit and pleasant personality
  • Able to speak English and Mandarin, and at least one other dialect would be advantageous

Job Type:
Full-time

Required experience:
Relevant experience in manual work

License or certification:
Preferably Class 3 Driver's License in good standing and acceptable driving record.

Basic Salary:
Starting S$2500/- (Depending on experience) Plus Overtime Salary

Working Hours:
0900 HR to 1730 HR, 6 days week
