Role and Responsibilities


We seek a highly skilled and motivated Global Strategic Insights Manager to join our Commercial team. This person will report to the Commercial Excellence Director and will play a strategic role in delivering consumer and marketplace insights.




Insights &
Market Model


  • Responsible in gathering overall market insights and trends, split by technology, regulatory, consumer, with volume &
    value, market CAGR vs Filtrona growth aspirations. Be the one source of intel globally, recognize as the Filtrona expert on insights
  • Market model:
    Manage database of all customers globally, with mapping of all potential customers, the value chain, the industry associations, and competitors, with identification of high level pockets of growth per country, per region and priority segments
  • Translate insights into education of commercial teams via newsletter, insights webinars, etc
  • Collaborate with Product Management function and be responsible for drawing on customer needs to propose new ideas into the innovation funnel


Tactical Marketing Plans


  • Understand and define How to win strategy in target markets;
    Support development of strategic and tactical market plans and go-to-market plans and materials to help sales force in target markets or countries
  • Understand and quantify the market size, customer prioritization, value proposition/pricing, segmentation, by looking at, amongst others, players &
    Brands &
    Product launches, Movement of tow/ filters, Filter Solutions (Today &
    Tomorrow);
    Standard Offering, Competition, Illicit trading, Regulation/ tariffs, Consumption habits, Sustainability, Industry, What’s Next
  • Understand and identify real customer needs and key buying factors from supported regions, evaluate the elements that customers are willing to pay for and developing customer specific and quantified value propositions
  • Work closely with sales to (i) develop and support Sales in executing strategy to increase SOW, (ii) establish in conjunction with regions and implement a structured action plan;
    (iii) engage worldwide to ensure delivery and commercialization
  • Determine appropriate mode of entry for these markets
  • Drive opportunity management for target segments
  • Coordinate actions within the regions to drive marketing plans


Opportunity Management


  • Set up process for managing opportunities with clear rules
  • For new leads, identify need for this with tobacco industry;
    if needed, in collaboration with Business Processes function, set up and drive adoption of Salesforce module for lead management, as one main source of truth and systematic tracking. If not needed, use current pipeline opportunity tracking
  • KPIs tracking (quality, quantity, velocity, conversion) and reward. Clear measures on qualifying, progressing, and impacting opportunities
  • Training on opportunity generation and prospecting


Qualifications and Education Requirements


  • Degree or MBA in Business, Statistics, Marketing, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Science or equivalent
  • Proven track record of 3-5 years professional experience in market research or 6-8 years in strategy, commercial or market insights role focused also on driving implementation.
  • Experience in tobacco industry is needed
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English is a must (bi-lingual communication is an added advantage)
  • Data driven mindset and strong analytical skills with experience in using primary and syndicated research / insights, market and competitive analysis. Ability to translate into strategy
  • Exposure to managing strategic projects/ initiatives and experience in analyzing and solving complex problems, ability to independently lead the agenda
  • Strategic planning, marketing and business skills
  • Robust commercial acumen and sales-oriented mindset
  • Strategic thinking, while dealing with asymmetric information
  • Market mapping with an understanding of customer journey is an added advantage
  • Detailed oriented with strong project management skills on multi-market projects
  • Experience in demand generation, lead generation and nurturing is essential
