Straits Ink is a commercial printer who specialises in wide format printing.


We are looking for an individual who has passion for graphic design and project management to be part of our team. At this role, you can expect to work directly with a wide range of clients from international brands to government agencies and local small businesses to plan and manage their ongoing print projects.




What will you be doing?


The primary responsibility of this role as a Graphic Designer is to conceptualise and idealise with the client on their print designs, creating arresting design pieces to enhance the spaces they have allocated for prints.


  • Print Design Planning:
    Working with the client on their design brief, ensuring that their design brief has all the information needed. If the client does not have a brief, our graphic designer has to prompt for more information and develop the brief with the client.
  • Ideation and Conceptualisation:
    With the brief given by the client, our graphic designer will work on creating a design that fits the client’s preferences.
  • Design Mock:
    Using the dimensions and measurements provided, produce a 2D mock up for our clients to visualise better.
  • Print Ready:
    After the Client has agreed on the design and is satisfied, our graphic designer has to prepare the print ready file for production.
  • Quality Control:
    Once the production team has completed the prints, our graphic designer should be responsible for ensuring that colour and elements are in place for installation.


The secondary responsibility would be partnering up with the key account manager to support major campaigns.


  • Campaign Support:
    Work together with key account manager on timeline and production schedule.
  • Team Work:
    As our graphic designer will be working closely with brands on their design process, our key account managers will require the assistance of the graphic designer to assist them with project management support in terms of client’s expectations and requests.


What do you need?


  • Education:
    Diploma/Degree in Graphic Design or Related Courses.
  • Experience:
    Minimum 2 years as a Graphic Designer, preferably in the print and production industry.
  • Skills:
    High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop with strong knowledge on other designing softwares.
  • Independent:
    Self-motivated and Proactive.
  • Passion:
    Passion for great design and takes pride in crafting something spectacular.
  • Teachability:
    Every production house does things differently, we will need an individual who is adaptive.
  • Dedicated:
    Dedicated to the role and to datelines, ensuring that schedules are well met.
