JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Head Chocolatier will be responsible for overseeing the operations. This role requires strong leadership skills and independent decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
- To gain full knowledge of the products
- To get to know the team, their roles and responsibilities
- To lead the production team, and plan weekly production schedules
- To ensure consistent production of all chocolate confections according to the recipes and standards
- To maintain sufficient stock of all products
- To ensure proper storage of stock
- Ordering ingredients, and reduce wastage
- Maintain a clean, tidy and organised work environment
- Ensure orders are fulfilled in a timely manner
- Liaise with customers for delivery of their orders
- Develop and implement new chocolate recipes and products in line with market trends and customer preferences.
Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualified pastry chef with a certificate or degree in pastry arts, from a recognised culinary school.
- Minimum of 5 years experience managing a production kitchen, including overseeing daily operations, ensuring quality control, and leading a team of culinary professionals
- Basic knowledge of how to temper and work with chocolate
