Astek has an opening of a Business Analyst role with focus on Trade Finance.
Key Responsibilities:


  1. Business Analysis and Requirements Validation:
    Conduct systematic business analysis.
    Validate business requirements to ensure alignment with operational needs and IT standards.
    Design functional solutions and user workflows, and document specifications.

  2. Stakeholder Engagement:
    Present requirements and solutions to stakeholders for review and approval.
    Collaborate with stakeholders for SIT/UAT/NRT scope and approach development.

  3. Testing and Quality Assurance:
    Guide the testing team in creating and reviewing test scenarios/cases.
    Validate SIT test results and assist users in planning/executing UAT, analyzing defects, and prioritizing fixes.

  4. Documentation and Compliance:
    Document user manuals and release notes.
    Ensure compliance with bank policies and standards.
    Participate in approval committees for exceptional transactions or new activities.

  5. Outsourcing Management:
    Coordinate with onshore teams to review IT architecture and data flows.
    Work with PMOs and outsourcing teams on documentation and approvals.

  6. Development Leadership:
    Lead development teams in customizing and implementing Trade Finance systems.
    Establish and communicate development and quality governance.

  7. Subject Matter Expertise:
    Provide expertise on end-to-end processes, focusing on improving operational efficiency.
    Contribute to project management, working closely with product managers and operations teams.
    Communicate project status and manage roadblocks to ensure timely production go-live.

  8. Project and Stakeholder Management:
    Run steering committees to communicate project delivery and risk management.
    Manage approved initiatives and their interdependencies, influencing key stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities:


  1. Functional Design Reviews:
    Participate in reviews to improve overall solutions.
    Initiate or contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

  2. Training and Knowledge Sharing:
    Provide training and knowledge sharing sessions on new features/releases.

  3. Permanent Control Framework:
    Contribute to the permanent control framework to ensure continuous improvement.

Skills and Qualifications:


  1. Functional &
    Business Analysis:
    Strong skills in functional and business analysis.
    Ability to bridge communication between business/operations and IT.
    Functional experience in Trade Finance products and applications.

  2. Teamwork and Communication:
    Good team player with strong commitment and attitude.
    Excellent communication and coordination skills with cross-cultural and cross-country teams.
    Ability to work independently.

  3. Technical Proficiency:
    Familiarity with standard formats like SWIFT, EDIFACT, ISO20022, and data transformations.
    Proficiency in Unix/Shell scripts, XML, and Oracle/PLSQL.

Experience and Qualifications:


  1. Educational Background:
    Graduate degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent.

  2. Professional Experience:
    Around 5 years of experience in a corporate banking environment, particularly in Trade Finance (e-banking channels) as an IT Business Analyst.
    Project Management experience with PMP certification.
    Experience with Agile Scrum and product certifications, and CDCS certification.
    Extensive IT delivery management experience using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
    Strong stakeholder management and partnership development skills.
    Experience in managing development teams for mutually beneficial outcomes.
    Proficiency with professional ticketing tools like JIRA and Scrum dashboards.
