Lead Automotive Technical Officer

Job Purpose

The Lead Technical Officer is responsible for the repair and maintenance of critical airport emergency and specialised equipment, ensuring operational readiness for ground support. This includes vehicles such as Water Tender, Foam Tender, Runway Sweeper, Rubber Remover, Friction Tester, and other similar equipment.

• Conduct regular repair and maintenance activities on airport emergency vehicles (e.G. Water Tender, Foam Tender) and specialised equipment (e.G. Runway Sweeper, Rubber Remover, Friction Tester).
  
• Ensure the operational readiness of ground support equipment to meet safety and regulatory standards.
  
• Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving tasks to address equipment malfunctions.
  
• Collaborate with other maintenance team members to execute preventive maintenance schedules.
  
• Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  

Requirements:

• Professional Certification/NiTEC in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  
• Relevant experience in the repair and maintenance of specialised airport equipment.
  
• Possess a Class 3 or 4 driving license.
  
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and other stakeholders.
  
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities to address technical issues independently.
  
• May require standby duty during weekends and public holidays.
  
• Ability to work independently.
