ACADEMIC FACULTY APPOINTMENT:
The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine

A Lecturer, Medical Education, at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is expected to make a major contribution to the education mission of the School. The appointee will join a team of medical educators to shape the future of education by leveraging technology to create interactive and effective learning experiences. Responsibility includes collaborating with peers to develop and design new approaches to teaching and assessment. Specialist knowledge of digital tools and content development expertise in digital learning is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Job Purpose
The Lecturer, Medical Education is appointed by the Dean, LKCMedicine. The primary focus of this role is undergraduate (MBBS) education. The appointee will join a multidisciplinary team to shape the future of LKC Medicine's MBBS education by leveraging technology to create engaging and effective learning experiences. The appointee is expected to contribute to:
the development, delivery and evaluation of online and/or face-to-face learning experiences and curricula, including using data analytics to inform teaching and assessment. In addition, the appointee is expected to contribute to creating digital learning materials, such as interactive simulations, and assessment tools. The appointee will also contribute to other areas of medical education scholarship and research, aligning with the School's aims and objectives.
Primary Responsibilities/Activities
The key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, delivering and evaluating online and face-to-face teaching and assessment.
  • Fostering and maintaining relationships with external and internal partners where required
  • Educational Project collaboration and leadership/management (e.G., working with colleagues to develop and design new approaches to teaching and assessment)
  • Acting as a TBL Facilitator (approximately 15-20 sessions per year) and house tutor for MBBS and/or postgraduate students
  • Undertaking other areas of teaching and associated activities as required, in-line with their background and areas of expertise

Time Commitment
The level of effort for this appointment is at 1.0 full time equivalent (FTE) employment.
