Manager

We are looking for a self-motivated and results-driven general manager to direct and manage our organization's business activities and to develop and implement effective business strategies and programs. Duties for the general manager will include allocating budget resources, coordinating business operations, monitoring and motivating staff, managing operational costs, ensuring good customer service, improving administration processes, engaging with vendors, hiring and training employees, identifying business opportunities, and monitoring financial activities. Your entrepreneurial spirit and vision in directing business functions will assist our organization in maintaining relationships with clients, generating new business, increasing staff productivity, improving service, ensuring sustainability, and meeting business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the technical or engineering functions of the fleet.
  
• Plan, control and execute all activities/operations and monitor vessel condition and ship’s staff compliance with management policies, international, state, or local Maritime regulations.
  
• Responsible for all technical and operational related issues, including correspondence. You will be directly responsible for ensuring all procedures are adhered to and comply with International safety management (ISM), classification society rules, and Maritime insurance.
  
• Supervise vessels from an engineering aspect but you will be mainly office based.
  
• Carry out security assessments as required by DPA/CSO.
  
• Issue necessary QHSE Alerts and Bulletins to ships.
  
• Analyze reports, such as SIRE/CDI, Flag state, PSC, External audits, and other such reports.
  
• Initiate necessary action for timely closure as per advice of Marine/Safety Director.
  
• Implement training agenda and training for officers and crew.
  
• Review and respond to safety and other reports received from the vessel.
  

Pre-Requisites:

· Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies or related field preferred.

· Extensive experience in ship management or maritime industry.

· Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations and standards.

· Proven track record in business development and financial management.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Proficiency in using business management software and tools.

· Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Good spoken English and Chinese.
