Mechanical Engineer-Newbuild & Repairs (Benoi)

Responsibilities:

• Assist in manpower and resource scheduling and deployment, daily man-hour returns and coordinate all aspects of site issues for repair projects
• Liaise with surveyors and comply with inspection requirements
• Monitor job progress and ensure quality work at targeted schedule
• Study and evaluate the work processes and methods of the department and explore new ideas to improve work quality and productivity
• Resolve any technical problems or issues with Designer, contractors, class &
  owner
• Evaluatetechnical and engineering requirements of the jobs
• Obtain and monitor drawings and technical information
• Prepare reports on job status and project completion
• Conduct Risk Assessment and hazard reporting

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or related fields
• Preferably with 2-5 years' working experience in a shipyard or marine industry, with experience in newbuild projects
• Experience in managing subcontractors
• Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Resourceful, committed, independent and a good team player
• Willing to work under on site environment-heat, grease and dust
