We are looking for hard-working, customer-oriented shop assistant to ensure the smooth running of in-store retail operations. A great entry-level position for those looking to gain experience in the retail industry. A store assistant is responsible for a wide range of tasks, including stocking shelves, handling cash, and responding to customer inquiries. They also need to be comfortable with repetitive tasks such as restocking and cleaning up the store. Store assistant should be able to remain clam under pressure, have a basic understanding of cash handling, and be able to multitask effectively.

Job Duties &
Responsibilities.

  1. Welcome customers to the shop.
  2. Monitor customer activities to prevent incidents of shoplifting.
  3. Arrange display chiller and shelves.
  4. Identify customers’ needs and recommend suitable shop items that best satisfy their needs.
  5. Assist customers in locating desired shop items.
  6. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of store items to provide advice and recommendations as needed.
  7. Inform customers of shop promotions.
  8. Receive, process, and organize delivery parcels accordingly.
  9. Restock items and ensure that the sales floor is organized according to established guidelines.
  10. Perform regular price audits to identify and correct price discrepancies.
  11. Perform end-of-day cleaning duties, which includes wiping down doors and fixtures as well as sweeping and mopping the shop floor.
  12. Address and resolve customers complaints in a professional manner.
  13. Process customer payments using the shop’s Point of Sale (POS) system and handle cash.
  14. Unpack and label incoming stocks.
  15. Manage inventory.
  16. Maintain store cleanliness and organization.

Work Requirements.

  1. Stand for extended periods, bend, and lift heavy boxes.
  2. Use labelling and pricing equipment as well as Point of Sale (POS) software.
  3. 21 years old and above.
  4. Energetic and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Typical schedule may include weekends, holidays, and evenings.
