Responsibilities of an Office Accountants Manager:

Financial Management:

  • To prepare and maintain comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct regular financial audits to identify and rectify discrepancies.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Accounts Management:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and collections.
  • Communicate with customers regarding payment matters and ensure timely resolution.

Budgeting and Compliance:

  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting to support strategic planning.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulations, including tax regulations.

Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial analysis and insights supporting decision-making.
  • Maintain general ledgers and generate financial reports, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.

Record Keeping and Administration:

  • Maintain a full set of accounting records and fixed assets schedules, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Perform daily accounting entries and handle monthly staff claims.
  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations and submit GST quarterly.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial discrepancies or inquiries.
  • Handle administrative and HR-related duties, such as maintaining staff leave records, salaries, and IR8A forms.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Continuously update job knowledge through educational opportunities and staying informed about industry trends.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by superiors to support organizational goals.

Job skills and requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in administration, accounting or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
  • Previous experience in Advertising/Events Industry will be a plus
  • Proficiency in Office applications, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, as well as ERP systems.
  • Experience with Xero Accounting Software and Just Login is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial records keeping.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work from the office
