Production Engineer

FIRST PART OF THE MISSION

As it is a greenfield plant at final phase of startup, mission of the job holder is to do troubleshooting and refinement of SOP, standardization of practices and creation of one point learning document to support training;
Establish consistent database for benchmarking of plant performance, cost optimization and raising MOC to achieve improvement in safety, operability and economic optimization.

TECHNICAL SCOPE

· Support for technical issues, especially for recurring problems. Participates to all optimisation of the systems. Leads or participates in the Task Force and propose change initiatives.

· Preparation and monitoring of turnaround and technical shutdown (sections or units):
works lists, provisioning operations, planning, help to coordinate work permits and follow up action.

· Work with other departments on mid-term technical topics

• With Process team for trials, test-runs, risk analysis…
  
• With Technical Services for changes and capex projects, reliability issues, preventive maintenance plans.
  
• Other mid-term activities (participation)

• Updating of the training guides, provides training
  
• Updating of the PID and Functional Analysis
  
• Creation and updating of technical documentation
  

· Technical support to production superintendent and supervisor in terms of production/operation parameters management.

· Perform daily reporting of plant performance and/or production figures.

· Assist Production Manager to perform month end closing in SAP.

HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT, QUALITY AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

· Assist Production Manager to implements rules / procedures / good practices based on Arkema Integrated Management System

· Detect and address potential risks in HSEQ field

· Involved in emergency plan development, emergency event management and investigation

· Implements improvement programs in accordance with site directions and priorities in HSEQ field

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

The plant in Singapore is new and combines monomer and polymer production. It is the result of exceptional investments and aims to support strong demand from the customers in Asia. In the context of a new plant start-up in a country, cultural, managerial and technical issues will be challenging. Another important challenge will be to assist in building a strong and cohesive team while positively supporting management agenda.

Monomer process is of great complexity and involves hazardous materials. High level of safety consciousness at all time is a prerequisite.

OBJECTIVES

· To complete the last phase of start-up of the new plant

· To manage the technical mid-term operation subjects to meet business objectives with the best economics.

· To ensure HSEQ best in class performances

· To support people in operation team. To foster collaboration with support departments

Education:

Degree in Chemical Engineering from Singapore recognized university or equivalent .

Minimum 2 years experience in Refinery, Oil and Petrochemical and/or Chemical Plant operations regime.

Significant experience in complex continuous chemical processes will be an advantage.

Knowledge:

· Practical knowledge in chemical engineering.

· Risks management related to hazardous chemical process

· Knowledge of IT tools for tracking units performance.
