The Project Engineer is requested to work closely with not only the Project Engineering Coordinator but also MPW’s Project/Engineering/Quality Manager to provide engineering/project management coordination support in Singapore.




The Project Engineer responsibility is to support Project Engineering Coordinator including various engineering coordinating tasks and handling queries from/to consortium partner, project owner, owner’s consultant, competent engineers for Singapore regulations, supplier and project stakeholders with all the related MPW project teams in Japan. The Project Engineer should have a responsibility mainly for Singapore Regulation for 3 projects (Meranti Power OCGT, Keppel Sakura Cogen and Banyan).




The Project Engineer should have capability to discuss about technical issue in consideration of the Singapore Regulation (MOM,EMA,BCA,NAE and etc.),and schedule based on intension of Project Manager (PM), Engineering Manager(EM) and Quality Manager(QM) under Project Engineering Coordinator.

Job responsibilities


Project coordination


· To attend the regular meetings and technical meetings and support technical issues with competent engineer for Singapore Regulation, consortium partner, supplier, owner/owner’s consultant and prepare minutes of meeting draft and the report


· To coordinate the meeting as for Singapore Regulation with competent engineer for Singapore Regulation, consortium partner, supplier.


· To attend meetings which PM/EM and/or QM are instructed, and prepare minutes of meeting draft and the report.


· To make a list and check the status for all correspondences between consortium partner and MPW


· To expedite and follow up issues with competent engineer for Singapore Regulation, consortium partner, supplier and report to MPW project teams in Japan.


· To support discussion with competent engineer for Singapore Regulation, consortium partner, about technical issue


· To make the report about outcomes/results to PM/EM/QM and all the related MPW project teams in Japan.


· To follow up the progress of Singapore Regulation including pressure vessel and piping, lifting, structure and motor.


Competent Engineer Relationship


· Visiting to owners’ site or office for project planning and coordination purposes with the owner.


Others


· Support and collaborate with other business teams as needed




Job requirement


Education level and/or relevant experience(s)


· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) from reputed college / University or equivalent as well as strong familiarity with turbine and generator technology


· More than minimum five (5) years of power plant project experience as appropriate.


· Proven success and expertise in EPC business of Thermal Power Plant/Environment in GTCC, SP, and AQCS equipment suppliers on a global basis


· The Project Engineering coordinator shall have managed at least one (1) successful EPC power project experience with similar scope and complexity.




Knowledge and skills


· An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans.


· Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.


· Strong client-facing and teamwork skills.


· Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control.


· Strong working knowledge of project management tools.


· Handle multiple priorities, duties, projects, and responsibilities.


· Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.


· Experience with MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.


· Good written and verbal communications.


· Effectively communicate issues related to projects to all project stakeholders.


· Ability to read engineering drawings and documents .


· Ability to work on tight deadlines.


· Proven ability to work with people of different disciplines.


· Thorough understanding of Project Management practices and principles


· Experience to read and work on for Singapore local codes and regulations
