GENERAL FUNCTION


(a) Lead and oversee all technical and production activities in the project phase of new products to be manufactured in the company so as to meet customer requirements and budgeted expenses


(b) Work with Marketing on consolidating customer needs and translating them into cost effective production molds and assembly processes for mass production in the company.


(c) Lead and oversee the Project team, review and continuously improve the project management


system to meet changing needs of customers and stakeholders.


(d) Line and functional management of direct reports




DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1) Project Management


Responsible for planning, executing and supervising projects to meet management’strategic objectives and to ensure project delivery within budget and on-time.


a) Lead and rally relevant resources from Mold Shop, Manufacturing, QA, Materials to manage Project activities and timeline to ensure customers’ expectations and requirements are met.


b) Communicate effectively with customers and provide all necessary services to ensure customer satisfaction during project phase.


c) Carried out product costing and analysis and submitted for approval.


d) Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion.


e) Ensure the following Project tasks are carried out effectively:


· Perform project feasibility studies, DFM (design for manufacturing), mold flow analysis, FMEA, Process validation.


· Manage project expenses like tooling, materials, equipment and other project expenses etc to meet budget and timeline.


· Ensure material availability for testing and initial production start-up.


· Coordinate the execution of mold test, part measurements to meet product specifications.


· Ensure performance of the product and process are sustainable throughout the manufacturing life cycle.


f) Perform proper documentation of Project File that includes Product drawings, Tool DFM, Mold tests, Process window studies, Molding parameters, Project schedule, FMEA etc. Ensure smooth and proper handover of Projects to Production by delivering to manufacturing requirements.


g) Work with the General Manager on developing Business Plan that comprises Sales strategies, utilization of company machines / equipment and expansion plan.




2) Engineering Activities


Lead and oversee Innovation and Cost Reduction Projects:


a) Perform Technical evaluation and Cost analysis and submit Technical proposal with payback for approval.


b) Ensure all qualification like FAT(Factory Acceptance test), Validations are carried out and proper documentation are done.


c) Familiarize with ISO 13485 / 9001 standards and any special customer standards eg. Certified Supplier Program and ensure necessary documentations and practices comply with these standards.




3) Management Role


a) Participate effectively in Operation Meeting and Management Review and contribute and add value to improving systems, practices and human resource matters in the company.


b) Participate actively in Management initiatives to resolve critical issues, improve overall operational performances / productivities etc.


c) Work closely with Functional Heads from Engineering, HR, QA and Operations to foster a harmonious working environment for all staff


d) Train, mentor and develop new Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Assistant Engineer to ensure they understand their role and responsibilities and can perform their job effectively.


e) Line and functional management of team members.


f) Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members individual strengths.


h) Participate actively in continuous improvement activities.




POSITION REQUIREMENTS


Knowledge and Experience


  • Minimum Diploma in Engineering preferred.
  • PMP certification is an advantage
  • Communication and leadership abilities
  • Good working knowledge of Plastic materials, plastic injection and LSR molding process and mold design and function.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications, including MS Teams, Power BI, etc.
  • Proficiency in software like mold flow analysis, AutoCad, UG, Pro-E is an advantage.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience (ideal).
  • Good influencing and decision-making skills.
  • A team player to leadprojects.
