Quantity Surveyor (Civil Engineering (Oil & Petrochemical) Exp/North)

Responsibilities:

Measurement and Estimation:

Taking off quantities from drawings and specifications to prepare bills of quantities (BOQ).

Estimating costs for materials, labor, and equipment required for construction projects.

Cost Control:

Assisting in monitoring project costs and budgeting throughout the construction phase.

Keeping track of variations or changes in the scope of work and their impact on costs.

Procurement:

Assisting with the procurement process, such as obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors. Comparing prices and preparing cost analyses for materials and services.

Contract Administration:

Assisting in the preparation of tender and contract documents.

Managing contract documentation and ensuring compliance with contractual terms.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintaining accurate records of project progress, costs, and variations.

Producing reports and updates for project managers and quantity surveyors.

Value Engineering:

Supporting value engineering exercises to find cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.

Collaboration:

Liaising with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information and resolve issues.

Attending site meetings and contributing to project discussions.

Quality Assurance:

Assisting in ensuring that construction works meet quality standards and specifications.

Health and Safety:

Following health and safety regulations and contributing to maintaining a safe working environment on site.

Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 2- 3 years with contractor firm in the civil engineering industries, preferably in the oil and petrochemical industry
  
• Able to work dependently
  
• Excellent communication skills
