Roles &
Responsibilities


QUANTITY SURVEYOR


  • Reporting to Director and Asst. QS Manager
  • Performing the full spectrum of duties required as a quantity surveyor
  • Managing all contracts/sub-contracts activities, including meeting project budget, ensuring profitability, contract/sub-contract terms and conditions, and scheduling procurement activities to meet project deadlines.
  • Leading and managing the QS team for the overall direction, coordination, and execution of projects from tender development to construction inception to final completion.
  • Leading and managing the purchase team for the overall direction and development to final completion of the project.


Main Job Tasks &
Responsibilities


a) Tender Development


  • Registering all tender invitations and seeking approval from directors to accept tender invitations
  • Attending show rounds (if any)
  • Assigning QS to take off all required quantities or undertaking the taking off process
  • Collating and checking that all necessary pricing required for the tender is in order and complete
  • Discussing final tender pricing with superior 2 days before the closing date
  • Overseeing and ensuring all tenders are submitted on time
  • Updating the tender summary chart


b) Contract


  • Assigning QS to the job upon receipt of the awarded contract or undertaking to take charge of a specific project.
  • Monitoring and ensuring project insurance, establishing project deadlines, and establishing sub-contractors/suppliers list
  • Monitoring and ensuring all necessary critical procurement is in place and on time to meet project deadlines
  • Establishing and controlling project budget with team members
  • Controlling and ensuring the team works within the approved project budget
  • Managing, checking, and ensuring progressive claims are in order and submitted on time
  • Ensuring all VOs are duly raised and acknowledged by the client before any work commences
  • Handling, monitoring, and governing all contract administration and management


c) Completion


  • Monitoring, checking, and ensuring Final Account is in order and submitted on time (2 weeks after handover)
  • Monitoring, checking, and ensuring final invoices are duly raised and submitted
  • Following up on consultant payment certification/practical completion certification, etc.
  • Following up on collections
  • Monitoring, managing, and checking that proper project closure documentation is completed
  • Monitoring, checking, and ensuring sub-contractors/vendors' bills are in order


d) Actively participating in ad hoc projects and other administrative duties


e) Awarding contracts and preparing contracts related documents


f) Submitting weekly updates on projects budget, costing, and claim status


g) Attending weekly and fortnightly projects/accounting meetings


h) Company reserves all right to amend above scope of works as and when required.
