Research Analyst
Reports to:
Head of Commodity Market Research

Singapore
Role purpose:
· Help setup a world-class Market Intelligence function within Molycop – that acts as a trusted advisor to the Group on commodity &
freight market dynamics, market strategy and enables informed decision making.
Key accountabilities:
· Provide robust fundamental demand-supply analysis, insights and recommendations to the business by conducting research on the following:
o Steel &
Raw Materials Markets (60%):
Support the Group’s steel &
traded products’ buyingstrategy.
o Freight Markets (25%):
Play an integral role in the Group’s freight strategy (bulks and containers).
o Copper-Gold Market Dynamics, Energy Transition and ESG analysis (15%):
Support the Group’s commercial strategy by undertaking research on customer industries.
· Data collection, maintenance, processes automation and statistical modelling that enhances the ability to draw meaningful insights.
· Influence and update internal stakeholders through both written work and verbal presentations.
· Create compelling presentations on the commodity market dynamics for the customers.
· Build a network of contacts with commodity traders, mining companies, steel producers, brokers, research providers to share and develop market intelligence.
Required qualifications:
· Strong academic background, preferably in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Geology or Data Science
· Highly developed quantitative skills and advanced proficiency in MS Excel is a must
· Knowledge of commodity value chains (preferably steel/metals) and freight market highly desirable
· 2-4 years of working experience in commodity market analysis, consulting, mining, shipping or commodity trading.
· Good written and verbal communication skills;
Mandarin language skills highly valued
