The Research Analyst (RA) position is intended for recent graduates with a bachelor’s degree from leading universities and superior academic records, who would like to gain useful work experience in an international environment before pursuing further studies or moving on to other employment opportunities. The RA supports the operational and policy work of STI management and economists. The position offers the opportunity to interact with experienced IMF economists and enhance her/his technical skills, gain a comprehensive understanding of the economic and financial policy challenges facing Asia-Pacific countries, and supplement academic training with practical, policy- oriented, knowledge.


The RA will typically be called on to do the following:


· Research, collect, and compile information on economic and financial issues to support STI training, technical assistance, and research activities.


· Prepare presentations and databases to be used in STI training and technical assistance activities.


· Maintain and update quantitative and qualitative economic, financial, and statistical databases. Design systems to facilitate interface between external and in-house databases.


· Coordinate preparation of STI’s Annual Report.


· Support organization of STI seminars and STI outreach events.


Requirements:


· Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, or statistics.


· A cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 in the principal field of study and in the overall program. Final academic transcripts must be submitted prior to appointment.


· Strong knowledge of, and a high degree of comfort with Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.


· Familiarly with econometrics software, such as Stata, EViews, and Matlab would be beneficial. Knowledge of programming languages and database operation would be a plus.


· Good quantitative data management and analytical skills.


· Good project and time management skills.


· Ability to work in a highly collaborative and multi-cultural team environment.


· Ability to demonstrate initiative and good interpersonal communication skills.
