The Psychology Department in the School of Social Sciences is seeking to hire a full-time research assistant for a research project on biopsychosocial criminology under Dr. Olivia Choy's lab.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating a research project on adolescent offenders and at-risk youths in Singapore.
  • Facilitating biological and psychological data collection in adolescent offenders in the Singapore Prison Service and in at-risk youths
  • Coordinating participant recruitment
  • Liaising between academic (NTU) and non-academic government institutions/community organizations (e.G., Singapore Prison Service, Central Narcotics Bureau) involved in the project


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, criminology, biology, neuroscience, neuropsychology, or related field.
  • Social science research experience (e.G., participant recruitment, data collection);
    Experience with administering lab tasks is preferred.
  • Interest in working with at-risk youths and offenders in a prison setting
  • Amenability to travel to different locations, such as the prisons, community agencies, as needed
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to communicate well with others, such as research team members, prison staff, youths, and offenders
  • Openness to different perspectives
