The Laboratory of Applied Human Genetics at the National Cancer Centre Singapore is a multi-disciplinary laboratory with specific focus on peritoneal and sarcoma malignancies. The direction of our laboratory is to solve real world clinical problems via sound scientific translation. Since the conception of our laboratory 7 years ago, we have now set up three scientific pillars of Therapeutics, Companion Diagnostic and CAPTIVATE (Target Generation) pipeline. Currently, we are working towards a first-in-human therapeutic developed in our laboratory. We are looking for a dynamic, brave, meticulous and responsible Research Associate to work closely with a team of experienced researchers and the clinical team in the area of cancer therapy for advanced metastatic disease. You will provide critical administrative support in addition to performing critical experiments together with the rest of the team so as to transit our discovery to clinical reality both in-house and with our collaborators. In addition, an interest in transiting scientific innovation to clinical care will be an advantage.




Responsibilities:


1. Research and Admin


a.Maintenance of proper documentation and records for auditing / archival purposes.


b.Ensure that all research activities are carried out in accordance with established research protocol and standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedural requirements.




2. Laboratory Research


a.Contribute actively to research that is focused on identification of biologically relevant molecular ligands that could be harnessed for treatment of patients with peritoneal and sarcoma malignancies especially in aspects to allow clinical translation.


b.Work closely with research team to analyse, collate and compile research data for publication.


3. To perform any other ad-hoc job-related duties as assigned.




Job Requirements:


1. Recognised Bachelor/Master’s Degree, preferably of biomedical science/ health science background.


2. Prior relevant working experience with in vivo work will be an added advantage.


3. Proficient in benchtop experiments, with knowledge of basic statistical analysis and good problem-solving skills.


4. Record of excellent written and oral communication skills, e.G. publications, conference presentations.


5. Meticulous, organized, analytical and committed to high quality standards.


6. Positive attitude with a keenness to learn.


7. Able to work independently and interactively in a team setting, with excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills.


8. Ability to exercise ethical judgement and discretion.


9. Keen to pursue scientific innovation for better health care.
