The Early Mental Potential &
Wellbeing Research (EMPOWER) Centre is a University Research Institute whose mission is to maximise every child's mental and emotional capital by uplifting neurodevelopmental trajectories during early sensitive periods through interdisciplinary discovery science and translational technologies. The Centre has 3 major activities and thrusts:


1) Core Discovery Research, Empowering Science:
Basic neuroscience research and advanced computational models to understand individual neurocognitive potential, developmental trajectories, and risk and resilience factors;


2) Translation to Clinic &
Pedagogy, EmpoweringPractitioners:
Developing precision assessment and intervention tools to optimise parent-child social and mental health within clinical, education and community settings;

3) Translation to Real-World Technologies, Empowering Families:
Creating scalable solutions and real-world technologies for parents to enhance their child's mental and cognitive wellbeing at home;

We are looking foran experienced full-time Research Fellow to work closely with a team of researchers, led by PI - Professor Victoria Leong, and to drive and fulfill research deliverables and milestones within a tight timeline.
The candidate is expected to render strong research support to the Centre's Director, Professor Victoria Leong and collabortors, on basic and translational projects with a focus on early childhood development. Experience with coordinating complex / multi-stakeholder research projects (on an international level) is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead data collection efforts for research studies to be conducted in Singapore
  • Lead data analysis in selected core sociometrics domains and work closely with the computational modelling team
  • Work closely with PI and administrative team to render strong administrative support and to ensure timely scientific and financial reporting to the funder
  • Track and report on project deliverables, deliverables and milestones, including pro-active and effective trouble-shooting for issue/s that may arise
  • Assist in data sharing and compliance with University's data management policies, ethics and other governance matters.


Job Requirements:

  • A PhD degree in Psychology, Neuroscience or related fields
  • Experience with project management in a research or commercial context
  • Strategic planning and financial management skills are preferred
  • Efficient, organized, and a good team player
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working with international collaborators or partners in a research or commercial context
  • Self-motivated and able to motivate others
  • Interest and experience in Psychology or Neuroscience research, and working with children
