Research Fellow (Sustainability)

To support research project working with international organizations, academia, and industries, and to work in the engineering of natural plant-based novel materials and applications, School of Materials Science Engineering (MSE) is looking to recruit a high-caliber postdoctoral fellow who has strong experience in the fields of engineering research project with techno-economic assessment. Candidates with experience in international project proposals and multidisciplinary international research projects management, will be considered first.
Key Responsibilities:

• Manages the international project on municipal solid waste management on environmentally sustainable cities and delivers the project outcomes.
• Collects and prepare data/ information/ proposal required for research-related funding and grant call process.
• Conduct experiments related to natural biological materials, especially plant-based biomaterials such as pollen, sap, seed, and etc.
• Assist in interpreting and applying processes and procedures to conduct/monitor project progress.
• Gathering information/ data and prepare documents for reporting/ papers.
• Assists in and delivers training and coaching new members with relevant laboratory/ technical skills.

Job Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Chemistry /Chemical Engineering / Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical / Biology / Bioengineering / Materials Science
• Possess intermediate to advanced knowledge on energy and climate resilient strategies, waste management policies, and techno-economic assessment on research project.
• Familiar with latest progress in climate mitigation adaptations in various industries.
• Experienced in wet laboratory techniques.
• Experienced in international research projects.
• Highly adept in working with international organizations, government offices, universities, and industries
• Excellent laboratory management, communication, and organizational skills
• High level competency in writing proposals
• Strong motivation for paper publication
• Highly innovative and forward-thinking
• Able to work independently and within teams
• Dedicated and able to meet deadlines
