Resident Engineer C&S (Ferry Terminal)

Job Description &
Requirements

· To ensure that the Contractor co-ordinates the work of various contractors.

· To agree to detailed programmes of work-time chart and representation on site plans

· To check that all necessary drawings and instruction have been given to contractors and authorization obtained in accordance with the agreed programme.

· To check that materials are ordered in good time and permits obtained.

· Check that all constructions work are carried out in safe manner and that the site is kept secure.

· To watch for faulty workmanship and materials incorporated in the works and to issue instructions for rectification.

· To check line and level and layout of structure during erection and that intentions of “contract” drawings are adhered to.

· To check structural slab, beam an column sizes and reinforcements placed and that intent of design details are followed.

Requirements

· Recognized Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with valid RE Accreditation Certificate from IES.

· Must have at least 8 years post-graduate experience respectively in supervising building projects. Applicants with both design and supervision experience as Resident Engineer will be favourably considered.

· Fully conversant with Building Contract Act and Regulations. Able to administer contractrs professionally, maintain site records and contract documents systematically, so as to meet reporting requirements under Building Control Act.

· Experience in the supervision of piling, spun pile systems, precast concrete and structural steel construction.

· Experience with projects located adjacent to sea would be advantageous.
