The Opportunity


We currently have an opportunity for an experienced SAP Functional Specialist in SD (Sales and Distribution) and MM (Material Management) Specialist, to join our Technology team on a full-time basis.


Reporting to the Group IT Applications Director, the primary purpose of this position is to drive effective Supply Chain processes across our various locations. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of our SAP configurations and processes, promoting improvements, and enhancing service management. You will also be a key contact point for Supply Chain SAP users and provide essential support to meet their needs.




Key accountabilities include:


  • Maintain and enhance the integrity of SAP SD and MM configurations and processes, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Drive process improvements in SAP SD and MM with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement governance measures to control changes and ensure service management aligns with best practices.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to maintain and enhance ERP support, keeping it aligned with business needs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Supply Chain SAP user support, ensuring their needs are met promptly and effectively.
  • Provide secondary support for Sales and Operations Planning (S&
    OP) systems.
  • Implement and enforce a Controlled Change Management Process to maintain the integrity of Supply Chain processes and systems.
  • Vendor management for external SAP Application Management Services (AMS) team.


1. SAP SDMM Functional Support


  • Single point of expertise in the listed functional areas (SD and MM), also acting as the first point contact for users to troubleshoot and resolve issues for Supply Chain and Customer Service.
  • Monitoring of SAP status and performance and proactively driving a continuous improvement program.
  • Assist the business in defining requirements and translating these into technical specifications, developing solutions, and performing the requisite testing to ensure completion.
  • Manage change control processes which are aligned to Validated Computer Systems (GxP) rules and procedures (training will be provided if this is a gap).
  • Engage with other functional Leads to ensure SAP changes are accounted for in SAP correctly as part of end-to-end processes.
  • Manage SAP job activities, via the ticketing queue, to ensure stakeholder priorities are reflected and expectations aligned.
  • Work with other technical SMEs to assist with digital supply chain initiatives – these are predominantly aligned to automated order processes.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including validation documents and training materials.
  • Provide support to the Group IT Applications Director and contribute to strategic and system governance requirements.
  • Vendor management for external SAP Application Management Services (AMS) team.


2. SAP Process Solution Improvements


  • Facilitate collaborative architecture and solution discussions with Technology and Business stakeholders.
  • Influence transition states toward joint business outcomes, leveraging SAP solution value.
  • Leverage industry and SAP reference architectures to ensure best practices.
  • Develop detailed scope, effort estimates, and implementation plans.
  • Lead in the development of the scoping process and individual work plans.
  • Estimate the financial impact of various solution architecture alternatives.
  • Bring functional expertise into solutioning discussions.


3. Sales and Operations (S&
OP) Functional Support


  • Secondary functional support for Logility Voyager S&
    OP systems.
  • Subject matter expert on Logility Voyager S&
    OP systems.
  • Support the Logility Voyager S&
    OP Voyager upgrade project.
  • Vendor management for external Logility Application Management Services (AMS) team.


About You


To be successful in this role, you will possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 7 years’ of hands-on experience in SAP SDMM consulting.


Other key requirements for this role include:


  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of SAP MM and SD module functionalities
  • In-depth understanding of integration points between SAP MM, SD, and other modules, such as Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO)
  • Strong understanding of business processes and ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and optimize processes to industry best practices.
  • Experience working with middleware and communication technologies such as EDI, IDOC
  • Highly skilled with the ability to lead system upgrades, data migration, implementation of new functionalities including ECC to S/4 HANA
  • Logility Voyager experiences or relevant S&
    OP systems experiences
  • SAP BI and BW experiences or relevant BI reporting experiences
  • SAP certifications
  • Computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite (Excel and Word) - advanced
  • Pharmaceutical Computer System Validation experience
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
