The Registrar's Office, Student and Academic Services Dept (SASD) is seeking to hire an independent and experienced Senior Assistant Manager to support the Senior Assistant Director in the running of the Student Discipline Unit which oversees the holistic administration of student discipline matters at NTU.
Responsibilities

  • Provide secretariat support, including the management of discipline cases, to the Board of Discipline and Appeal Committee.
  • Formulate and review policies and procedures on student discipline.
  • Analyse trends of student misconduct and assist with the formulation of effective policies to foster student character development.
  • Provide secretariat support to the University Academic Integrity Committee (UAIC).
  • Work with the University Academic Integrity Officer (UAIO) on the management of academic integrity issues and guidelines for School Academic Integrity Officers (SAIO).
  • Coach and guide Colleges/Schools/Departments on the management of discipline cases.
  • Plan and organise workshops for stakeholders from Colleges/Schools/Departments.
  • Establish a community of practice with partners from other local universities to share best practices.
  • Prepare discipline statistics and reports.
  • Facilitate the bi-annual external audit exercise on academic integrity processes, procedures and management of academic integrity offences by the Colleges/Schools.
  • Oversee the data management of discipline records and provide guidance to Colleges/Schools/Departments on the proper housekeeping of these records.
  • Oversee other matters pertaining to student discipline.


Requirements

  • Degree with minimum 6 to 8 years of work experience.
  • Experience with case management and good knowledge of interview techniques.
  • Experience working in IHL and track record in working with people from diverse background and levels.
  • Knowledge of Criminal Law, Penal Code, Rules and Legislation would be advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Presentation skills and workshop facilitations skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and the use of IT towards operational productivity.
  • Meticulous and good with data.
  • Self-Motivated and takes initiative.
  • Critical thinker and problem solver.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
