We seek a seasoned Senior Automation Solution Lead to contribute to the growth and delivery of the Supply Chain Development &
Analytics department. This strategic role requires a senior professional with robust leadership skills, a deep understanding of warehouse operations, and expertise in managing complex automation projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate independent thinking, a fast-learning aptitude, and the ability to lead and grow within the organization. This role ensures the alignment of the supply chain with FPG's overall business objectives and its capability to meet customer demand.




Responsibilities


  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for warehouse automation aligned with the Supply Chain goals, considering the unique requirements of ambient and cold storage facilities.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select appropriate automation technologies (e.G., robotics, multi-shuttle, AGV, sortation etc.) that optimize operations and align with the allocated budget.
  • Solution Design:
    Design and customize automation solutions tailored to specific warehouse needs, including layout design, system integration, and process reengineering. Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to ensure solutions meet functional requirements and performance standards.
  • Project Leadership:

Lead and oversee the implementation of large-scale warehouse automation projects from inception to completion, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to operations.

Manage project timelines and budgets meticulously, ensuring that all milestones are met within the established parameters. And Identify potential risks associated with automation implementation and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure business continuity.

Implement end-to-end change management processes, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and informed throughout the project lifecycle. Develop and execute organization change plans to support the transition to new automated systems.


  • Work closely with various departments (operations, Tech, Finance, Industrial Engineer, Indirect Procurement) to gather requirements, and ensure alignment of automation solutions with overall business objectives. And ensure that all automation solutions comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols, maintaining a safe working environment for warehouse personnel and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the performance of automated systems, continuously monitor operations, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. And develop training programs for warehouse staff to adapt to new automation systems and processes, facilitating a smooth transition and maximizing the benefits of automation.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in warehouse automation, fostering a culture of innovation and exploring opportunities for further enhancements. Lead pilot projects and proof-of-concept initiatives to test and validate new automation technologies.


Requirements


  • Master’s Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science.
  • Experience:
    Minimum of 7 years of direct experience working with warehouse automation technologies, such as robotics, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), conveyor systems, WMS, and IoT devices. Hands-on involvement in the implementation, maintenance, or optimization of automation systems in warehouse settings is particularly beneficial.
  • Project Management Expertise:
    Proven track record in managing large-scale warehouse automation projects, including end-to-end change management and organizational change. Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex projects from inception to completion.
  • Technical Expertise:
    In-depth understanding of warehouse automation technologies and material handling equipment. Familiarity with a wide range of automation technologies and their applications, and an understanding of emerging trends and innovations in the field.
  • Solution Design:
    Proven ability to design and implement customized automation solutions, including layout design, system integration, and process reengineering. Experience working with vendors and technology partners to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Analytical Skills:
    Aptitude for identifying operational inefficiencies and devising solutions to optimize automated processes. Strong analytical mindset to assess performance metrics, troubleshoot issues, and make data-based recommendations for improvements.
  • Strategic Mindset:
    Ability to align warehouse automation initiatives with long-term business objectives. Capacity to anticipate future needs and trends in warehouse automation to drive proactive planning.
  • Financial Acumen:
    Understanding of budgeting, cost analysis, and ROI calculations related to automation investments. Capability to optimize resource allocation to achieve maximum ROI on automation solutions.
  • Regulatory Knowledge:
    Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, safety protocols, and compliance standards related to warehouse automation.
  • Vendor Management:
    Understanding of vendor selection processes, contract negotiations, and vendor relationship management in the context of automation solutions.
  • Change Management:
    Understanding of change management principles and training methodologies to facilitate the adoption of new automation technologies among warehouse staff.

  • Working location:
    GLS HQ Office (37 Joo Koon Circle) / FPG FFDC (7 Sunview Road). The role will also be required to travel locally to other distribution centres.
