job description

You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care related activities to ensure delivery of high-quality patient care at the respective clinical area. You are required to provide high quality patient care in various disciplines by performing simple to complex clinical procedures that will meet the patients' immediate physical and emotional needs. You will also be required to assist the staff nurse in coordinating, implementing and monitoring clinical and service quality in the clinical areas, but not be limited to the following:
-


  • Utilize clinical judgment, critical thinking and problems solving skills in the delivery of patient care. Integrate established and new operational policies and procedures into nursing practice.
  • Demonstrate competency in clinical skills and knowledge such as infection control practices, measurement of vital signs, performing ECG, assisting in hygiene care, making bed, assisting in simple ambulation, turning of patients, collection of urine and stool specimens, measuring intake and output chart, etc.
  • Perform basic to intermediate patient assessment and deliver appropriate nursing care and interventions for effective patient’s outcomes.
  • Escalate to the respective supervisors and guide others to do likewise, in time of complications or emergencies.
  • Assist and supervise juniors in assisting resident physicians on patient rounds during treatment / procedures and examination of patient.
  • Provide simple to complex patient education or care giver training (in relation to hygiene care) and participate in patient’s rehabilitation, involving the patient’s NOK as necessary.
  • Record and maintain proper and accurate documentation of patient’s progress and management in the Clinical Chart, intake and output chart and other nursing documentation as needed. Highlight abnormal results as soon as obtained and escalate accordingly.
  • Be a champion in billing patient charges.
  • Report and record all incidents and feedback to supervisor or nurse-in-charge.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through the ongoing process of formal and informal education, through engagement in internal and external courses.
  • Exercise economy and care in the use of resources, including equipment and supplies.
  • Perform checks on the general cleanliness and tidiness of the department, report any defective facilities/equipment and rectify any issues identified.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment at all times for patients.
  • Maintain a good working relationship among medical personals, patients and the public, as well as setting a good example for the whole nursing team.
  • Exhibit professional behaviour to ensure quality service in compliance with Crawfurd Hospital’s Core Values.
  • Keep abreast with current information technology and its applications.
  • Participate and take lead in Hospital and Nursing committee when assigned.
  • Work Closely with Senior / Staff Nurse
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by Immediate Supervisor / Nurse Clinician / Nurse Manager and/or the Management.




Qualification &
Experience:
-


  • At least NITEC in Nursing with minimum 2 year of work experience in acute hospital setting.
  • Registered with Singapore Nursing Board
  • Possess a valid Basic Cardiac Life Support &
    AED (BCLS+AED) certification
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and able to build rapport easily
  • Confident and poise in delivery of care
  • Team-player
  • Must be willing to do rotating shift work including night shift, weekends and Public Holidays
  • Those with more experiences may be considered for Senior Position.
