Senior Manager, Trade (Container Shipping)

The Client:

The Client is a leading Global Shipping Carrier dedicated to connecting the world through efficient and reliable maritime logistics.

Job Scope:

As a Senior Trade Manager, the individual will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing operations within the vibrant and strategic Red Sea and Oceania trade lanes. The role will spearhead initiatives to enhance route profitability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction across these key markets.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning:
  Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to maximize market share and profitability in the Red Sea and Oceania trade lanes.
  
• Market Analysis:
  Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges affecting trade dynamics.
  
• Commercial Negotiations:
  Lead negotiations with customers, vendors, and partners to secure favorable terms and agreements that support business objectives.
  
• Operational Excellence:
  Collaborate closely with operations teams to ensure seamless execution of shipping schedules, optimize vessel utilization, and manage logistics costs effectively.
  
• Customer Relationship Management:
  Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their needs and delivering solutions that exceed expectations.
  
• Financial Management:
  Monitor financial performance against budget, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  
• Compliance and Risk Management:
  Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, while proactively mitigating operational and financial risks.
  

The Successful Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Maritime Studies, or any related discipline is a plus.
  
• Proven experience in long haul trade is a plus.
  
• More than 6 years of experience in trade management is a plus.
  
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations.
  
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
