Service Engineer (Marine Engines)

Job Description &
Requirements

As a Service Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for leading a team of technicians and fitters and providing technical services to resolve ship repair jobs related to engine mechanical and electronic components issues.

Job Responsibilities and duties may include but not limited to the following:

• Understand the job orders and comply with the customer requirements and timeline
  
• Plan, organize and execute the repair jobs (troubleshoot, maintenance or overhauling) onboard the vessels in yards, ports, anchorages and in the workshop.
  
• Coordinate with the Technical Manager for additional jobs upon inspection and ascertainment of minor or major damages not quoted
  
• Submit well documented technical service reports and time sheets to be forwarded to all stakeholders within the company and to the customer
  
• Strictly adhere to safe work procedures and applicable regulations
  
• Participate in skills upgrading training and programs
  

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in mechanical engineer, mechanical technology or mechatronics
  
• At least 5 years of service experience of Caterpillar, Cummins or comparable engines, large diesel, gas or dual fuel engines
  
• Team player with excellent safety record and good communication skills to deal with diverse team
