A Site Supervisor in a construction site for electrical works is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and coordinating activities between various teams and stakeholders.



Responsibilities:


  1. Supervision and Coordination:
    Supervise and coordinate the activities of electrical workers, subcontractors, and other personnel on the construction site.
    Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and project specifications.
    Monitor work progress and provide guidance to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.

  2. Quality Control:
    Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship and materials meet quality standards.
    Address any issues or defects promptly and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
    Maintain detailed records of inspections, progress reports, and any incidents on site.

  3. Resource Management:
    Manage and allocate resources efficiently, including manpower, materials, and equipment.
    Coordinate deliveries and logistics to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment needed for construction activities.

  4. Communication and Reporting:
    Serve as the main point of contact between the construction site and project management team.
    Communicate progress, issues, and concerns to the project manager or construction manager.
    Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on work progress, manpower utilization, and project milestones.

  5. Safety Leadership:
    Enforce safety protocols and ensure all workers adhere to safety regulations and best practices.
    Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety on site.
    Investigate and report any accidents or incidents, and implement corrective and preventive measures.

  6. Team Leadership and Training:
    Provide leadership and guidance to the construction team, fostering a positive work environment.
    Train and mentor new hires and apprentices, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
    Foster teamwork and collaboration among workers and subcontractors to achieve project goals.

  7. Problem Solving and Decision Making:
    Identify challenges or obstacles on site and propose solutions to overcome them.
    Make informed decisions regarding work methods, sequencing of tasks, and resource allocation.
    Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues or conflicts.


Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or similar role in construction, preferably with a focus on electrical works.
  • Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is often preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, installation techniques, and building codes/regulations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with construction software and tools for project management and scheduling (e.G., AutoCAD, MS Project).
  • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.G., OSHA) is often required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
