CREST-Youth @ East conducts mental health awareness and outreach
education to the community. It also provides mental health screening for youths and engages them for ongoing monitoring and support. CREST-Youth @ East also works actively with youth agencies, schools, and community partners to provide holistic care for youths and their families.
Responsibilities:
Basic Emotional Support
· Manage client through client engagement, information gathering, case assessment (BPSS, risk &
needs assessment and other relevant
assessment tools), case conceptualization, case planning and
intervention plans for best clients’ outcomes
· Provide supportive counselling to clients through Face-to-Face and/or
Online means
· Conduct visits to school/centre, home or hospital
· Advocate for the protection of client's dignity and rights
Screening
· Screen referred young persons for mental health distress
· Recognise different levels of distress and provide relevant resources and basic supportive counselling via phone and face-to-face
· Identify presenting/underlying issues so as to design a care plan to enhance/maintain and promote psychosocial functioning of clients
· Link youths or caregivers with appropriate services for continuity of care
Programming
· Conduct risk assessments and ensure safety plans
· Monitoring youths at risk of mental health issues
· Facilitate group activities in collaboration with the centre team
· Plan, coordinate and accompany youths for outdoor activities as well as collaborate with team on such outings
· Plan and coordinate social recreational activities and events
· Ensure safety and well-being of youths and caregivers at all times in and out of centre
· Inform professional staff of critical situations involving conflict, violence and other emergencies promptly
· Manage and/or assist in crisis intervention
Outreach and Co-Lab
· Be involved in outreach initiatives to raise mental health literacy in young people and the general public
· Coordinating, planning and creating social media posts for outreach
· Coordinate volunteers, co-lab partners, mentees and interns, and ensure proper documentation
· Source for and liaise directly with persons-in-charge of various agencies or groups who provide youth volunteers
Administration and Evaluation
· Perform administrative duties (complete case notes, compile basic statistics and reports, file documents, handle public enquiries through phone, email and face-to-face)
· Administer K10 evaluation to youths and caregivers, and ensure proper documentation
· Assist Head and Admin Officer in Annual Report or statistics collation when necessary
Operations
· Coordinate and design monthly programme calendar
· Manage day-to-day operations of centre (e.G. opening and closing of centre, stocktaking, maintaining walk-in area and displays, overall crowd control)
· Coordinate and attend to all visits to the centre
· Report and follow up on any faulty equipments or furniture promptly to ensure smooth operation of the centre
· Ensure maintenance of premises and property
Other Duties
· To work on ad-hoc SAMH projects, community outreach programmes and events, ie World Mental Health Day, YOUth Alive!, etc.
Requirements:
· Diploma in Social Work, Counselling or Psychology preferred or health &
management, human services, dance
· Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
· Experience with and having skills in the arts (visual arts, music, drama, dance, etc.), sports and/or events management will be an added advantage
· Fresh graduate or 1-2 years of experience
· Independent and able to work in a team
· Motivated, energetic, enthusiastic and passionate to serve youths
