Steel Fiber - Assistant Engineer, Quality Assurance And Control

Job Overview

Established for over 40 years, Continental Steel is a premier steel supplier in South East Asia. We are looking to hire a dynamic individual to develop the Quality Assurance and Control operating procedures for a newly established Steel Fiber division. This role is vital in ensuring quality standards are maintained from the processing of raw material to final product and packaging.

Role Summary

The Assistant Engineer will report directly to the Production Manager and collaborate closely with the production team. You will uphold quality control processes, comply with standards, and contribute to the success of our steel fiber products.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Quality Assurance and Control:

• Assist in conducting in-process inspections to verify product quality.
  
• Report any quality issues promptly to the Production Manager.
  
• Support material testing using in-house equipment.
  
• Work closely with the production team to maintain consistent quality standards.
  

2. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP):

• Follow established SOPs for various production processes.
  
• Ensure adherence to documented procedures to maintain product quality and consistency.
  

3. Compliance with Standards:

• Ensure adherence to various product and manufacturing standards, including:
  
  

* Singapore Standards (SS)

* European Standards (EN)

* Factory Production Certificate requirements

* ISO standards

• Assist in developing and updating Manufacturing Procedure Specifications (MPS) and Quality Control Plans (QCP).
  

4. Technical Support:

• Collaborate with the production manager to carry out tests and inspections.
  
• Address quality-related issues during production.
  
• Optimize production runs and shifts for efficiency.
  

5. Audits and Continuous Improvement:

• Participate in internal audits to assess compliance with quality standards.
  
• Propose process improvements to enhance production efficiency.
  
• Work as part of a cross-functional team to optimize operations.
  

6. Marketing Support:

• Assist the administration team in preparing technical specifications and packaging designs.
  
• Ensure accurate representation of product quality in marketing materials.
  

Requirements:

• Diploma or relevant certification in Engineering or a related field.
  
• At least 3 years experience in quality assurance and control processes.
  
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  
• Effective communication skills and a team player.
