Mon to Fri:
9am to 6pm
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Using shell scripting to automate system tasks.
- Linux &
Databases Administrations
- 70% on Linux support and remaining 30% on Databases (Oracle/MySQL/Progress) operations tasks.
- Systems Monitoring &
Support Day to Day Operation Support
- Standby required, standby shall not exceed a calendar week, frequency normally once in every 5 or 6 weeks.
- Ad hoc travel may be required.
Core Responsibility:
Linux Configuration, Maintenance and Monitoring
- Install and configure Linux operating systems.
- Manage and maintain system software and applications, ensuring they are up-to-date and secure.
- Perform regular system updates and patches to keep systems secure and functional.
- Monitor system performance and ensure systems are running efficiently.
- Implement and manage authentication and authorization mechanisms, such as LDAP, PAM, and SSO.
- Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support disaster recovery exercise and perform regular recovery drills to ensure data can be restored in case of an emergency.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for system-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Implement configuration management tools such as Ansible to automate system provisioning and management.
- Work closely with other IT team members to design and implement infrastructure solutions.
- Manage virtualization technologies like VMware &
KVM
- Implement and manage cloud-based solutions using providers such as AWS.
Secondary Support:
Administration of Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL &
ERP Progress databases.
- Configure Oracle/MySQL databases based on requests from application teams.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as backups, updates, and patching.
- Provide technical support for database-related issues, working with application developers and IT staff.
- Implement Database backup using native backup commands or third-party tools.
- Support on databases related alerts from monitoring.
EDUCATION:
- Diploma / Degree in IT or other related areas
- Redhat &
Database preferred but not mandatory.
EXPERIENCE &
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
At least 5 years of experience in supporting Linux &
infrastructure activities, preferably in an MNC environment.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Hands-on knowledge on Linux related tasks
- Basic Database knowledge
- Basic Active Directory knowledge
- Administration of VMware Servers
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using shell scripting, Python, or other languages to streamline system administration tasks.
- Support the operations activities of Data Center (RHEL 7/8/9 LVM management\ , OS and DBs Backup/Restore, Monitoring etc)
- Knowledge on Monitoring
