Teacher Partner

XCL World Academy has an immediate vacancy for the school year 2024-2026 for Teacher Partnerto assist EAL students in intensive English Programming from Secondary Years in Grades 6 to 9.

This is a full-time contract position till August 2026.

Main Responsibilities

• 
  
• A Teacher Partner would directly work with students supporting the EAL Specialist teachers on a daily basis with classroom activities, classroom projects, project-based learning, vocabulary acquisition activities, speaking modules, listening practice, homework, organising folders, notifying parents on updates of students and assisting students during activities and breaks.
  
• Able to support the students with reading, writing, listening and speaking.
  
• Manages and interacts with students in a positive and supportive manner and would assist in the execution of instructional plans by supporting individually or in groups in the classroom.
  
• Would pick up and drop off students with class teachers for lessons, to the library, cafeteria, bus bay, nurse station, elective wheel, PE/GYM, or other facilities.
  
• Undertake playground supervision as per the duty roster, ensuring expectations are being consistently reinforced.
  
• Build on students' capabilities and differentiate to meet students' needs.
  
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students' physical, social and emotional development.
  
• Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school.
  
• Work collaboratively and professionally with peers, showing respect, being prepared and on time, and always adhering to the school-wide meeting norms and essential team agreements.
  
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formative and summative assessments.
  
• Join the Specialist in Professional Development and capacity-building as appropriate.
  
• Involve students in shared reflections during and at the end of each unit on a consistent basis.
  
• Evaluate the program collaboratively with teaching partners, parents and students as appropriate, using agreed flexible systems.
  

Person Specifications

• 
  
• Minimum Advanced Certification/ Diploma in Early childhood, EAL, ESL courses or relevant courses.
  
• Minimum of 2 years experience working with students as a full-time Homeroom Teacher Assistant would be preffered.
  
• Excellent proficiency in English (reading, writing, listening and speaking).
  
• Proficient in Chinese language to liaise effectively with students (reading, writing, listening and speaking).
  
• Proficient in the use of technology and online applications.
  
• Strong in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  
• Preferably Certified in Child First Aid.
  
• Provides excellent customer service to parents, students, teachers and school leaders.
  
• Takes initiative and possess strong problem-solving skills.
  
• Promote and market the school to relevant stakeholders where appropriate.
  
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, parents, students and the wider school community.
  
• Due to employment pass limitations, only candidates who do not require a pass to work in Singapore will be considered for the role.
  
• This is a 2 year contract position, and there are opportunities for the contract to be renewed.
