Purpose of the role:


As part of the Planning Office for Asia, this role is responsible for Balance sheet stability and profitability through the following matters (in collaboration with the Global Markets Division for Asia (“AGMD”):


1) Providing strong leadership for the balance sheet optimization initiatives and lead discussions with the balance sheet working group at the Singapore branch;

2) Providing strong leadership for balance sheet optimization initiatives within the APAC region with AGMD, other business units and project management of regional balance sheet meeting;

3)Project Management in the Balance Sheet MIS Project;
4)Review and provide support to business units in relation to balance sheet matters.
5)Analyze business unit plans, visualizing with BI tools and reporting to management.


* This role is not part of the AGMD, so it is not responsible for the profit amount itself.




Job Responsibilities:


Strategic
- To ensure/support implementation of Bank’s APAC regional/branch balance sheet optimization initiatives
- The role will also involve strongly leading business units and execute in accordance with initiatives, providing problem solving strategies.
- The incumbent will analyse balance sheet-related amounts and Net Interest Income (NII), strategizing initiatives to improve the profitability and stability of the Balance Sheet.
- This position plays a critical part in Project Management in the Balance Sheet MIS Project, which relates directly to the balance sheet.
- Moreover, from a Managerial Accounting perspective, this position will verify the balance sheet perspective plan, report findings to management, and formulate subsequent plans




Financial
- Responsible for supporting improvement of NII and Returns to each Branch’s balance sheet.
- Develop, evaluate, track and review financial performance and forecasts.
- Advise management on potential financial opportunities and risks.




Customer
- Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders such as AGMD, TB, JCIB, GCIB, Risk in APAC region and Branch level.
- Collaborate with Head Office to create initiatives that generate more efficiency and improve NII.
- Work in partnership with Branch treasury and planning members to build relationships with financial institutions in the region to promote initiatives and create business opportunities.


People
- To contribute for further enhancement other POA member about Balance sheet matter.
- Provide guidance and support to other POA member about Balance sheet matter.




Other/ Control
- Adhere to all company policies / guidelines.
- Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, relevant laws and regulations.
- Review external market interest rates and recommend internal interest rates optimization strategies that is required to stabilize and enhance NII throughout various market cycles.




Job Requirements:


- Degree qualified.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in Treasury.
- Experience in Planning and Managerial accounting.
- Experience in business plan review.
- Experience in BI tool such as Tableau and power BI.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence others and offer solutions to the team.
- Broad and extensive knowledge in liquidity management, industry terminology, resource optimization, and transfer pricing.
- Experience in managing various MIS systems, their operations, scope, and usage.
- Understanding of the regulatory environment with particular focus on the local liquidity regulations.
- Planning and negotiate, strong leadership to other member and stakeholder management skills.
- Project management skills.
- Experience with MS office suite, specifically MS excel, word, PowerPoint.
