ABOUT WORLD TABLE TENNIS


World Table Tennis (WTT) is a commercial and events company of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and is placing players and fans at the core of all its business to catapult table tennis to the forefront of global sports business. WTT aims to become the global table tennis commercial leader by transforming the table tennis experience and how it’s delivered internationally through world-class entertainment events, engaging fan-centric content and using technology to innovate. Social and digital media plays an important strategic role as part of the delivery.




WTT BROADCAST DIRECTOR


As a new, fresh and innovative sporting organisation, WTT wants to be at the forefront of innovation and modern thinking in the way it produces and sells its broadcast and media rights. WTT is looking for a Broadcast Director to manage its Broadcast and media sales, with a large focus on the future of the media rights strategy and ensuring broadcast operations run smoothly.




RESPONSIBILITIES


Strategic Leadership:


  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive broadcast and media rights sales strategy to maximize revenue for all WTT events.
  • Balance production needs with media rights objectives, ensuring optimal use of resources.


Media Rights Management:


  • Act as the primary account manager for media rights sales and production elements in collaboration with our partners.
  • Evaluate and support management on the execution of broadcast and media deals.
  • Monitor and analyze financial forecasts and projections, aligning them with WTT's overall business plan.
  • Collect and assess market intelligence on the broadcast landscape, key players, and new industry entrants.
  • Benchmark against other major sports properties to ensure competitive positioning.


Partnership Relations:


  • Ensure the quality of servicing levels provided to WTT's official broadcast partners.
  • Gather relevant information from broadcast partners, including promotional plans and ratings data.
  • Maintain strong relationships with broadcast partners to ensure the fulfillment of contractual commitments.


Team and Production Management:


  • Build and manage a high-performing media and production team.
  • Organize and deliver all TV production at WTT events, ensuring delivery within budget as agreed by the WTT Board.
  • Work with our partners on streaming production to ensure cost-effective solutions for betting and gaming production.
  • Continuously explore and implement innovative broadcast technologies and methods to enhance WTT's media reach and production quality.
  • Ensure efficient distribution of signals (satellite or digital) to broadcast partners.


Operational Excellence:


  • Develop and maintain an OTT business plan.
  • Prepare and present monthly revenue and reach reports to the WTT Board.
  • Create onboarding and education plans for new broadcast partners to ensure seamless integration into WTT.
  • Organize annual workshops ahead of each WTT season to align all stakeholders.
  • Manage the invoicing, collection of payments, and reconciliation linked to broadcast contracts.


Innovation and Growth:


  • Strategize and implement innovative ways to maximize WTT’s overall media reach.
  • Work with the Event &
    Experience Director to ensure events are optimized for media broadcast.
  • Manage the monetization and reach of WTT’s media archive.
  • Explore new technologies for replays, alternative viewing angles, and the integration of real footage with digital artwork to enhance content for broadcasters and digital platforms.


Support and Collaboration:


  • Collaborate with the WTT Partnerships team to provide key broadcasting information for sales efforts.
  • Act as the commercial contact for all matters related to still and moving images.
  • Any other duties as required by Management.




REQUIREMENTS


Essential:


  • Relevant tertiary education in Media, Communication, Journalism or Marketing
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in media rights and / or broadcasting ideally in a sporting organisation;
    experience with managing a team would be advantageous.
  • Strong administrative ability and detail-oriented.
  • Possess business acumen and critical thinking skills.
  • Willing to work odd hours, weekends and travel extensively
  • Excellent communication and writing capabilities in English;

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced organisation and within tight deadlines


Desirable:


  • Passion for sport and business.
  • Previous experience of working with sport or entertainment content.
