Job Purpose


The Business Finance Department perform reporting and analytics to the company’s financial and business data with the ultimate goal of delivering meaningful key performance review insights to the management. You will be joining the high performing team and become the key contributor to carry out in-depth analysis of the financial performance of Great Eastern Group.




The Job


· Comprehensive understanding of the regional insurance market landscape, reporting processes and risk appetite, regulatory frameworks, reporting standards, and industry trends relating to environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) considerations.


· Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including actuarial teams, risk management sustainability team and business units, to capture the relevant data for reporting of Great Eastern Group’s carbon footprint and opportunities for decarbonisation within the regional insurance portfolio.


· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Sustainability considerations into reporting guidelines and risk assessment processes.


· Setting up of Sustainability reporting framework within the Great Eastern’ Group for the purpose of consolidation and preparation of Great Eastern Group’s Sustainability Report.


· Setting up of data collection workflow and implementation of data collection system/software to enhance the reliability of the data reported in Sustainability Report


· Support the audit of Great Eastern Group’s Sustainability Report with Great Eastern Group’s appointed external assurance service provider.


· Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.


· Involve in the review and implementation of process and controls within the Great Eastern’ Group. Provide technical guidance to other reporting teams in Group Finance.


· Assist the Team Lead for any project assignments and ad-hoc requirements.


· Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.


· Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.


· Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.




Our Requirements


· Degree in Finance, Accountancy or equivalent.


· 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas – Insurance, Financial Services, Sustainability or Risk Management


· Professional Qualification or working towards attaining equivalent designations will be advantageous.


· Familiar with Data Analytics tools such as Python and SQL.


· Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work and handle multiple stakeholders.


· Possess strong analytical and good problem solving ability.


· Pro-active and independent individual.


· Able to work effectively with minimal management guidance and supervision.


· High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.


· Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
