Who are we?

The main role is to provide assistance, support and manage all insurance-related affairs within the Yinson Group of Companies. Additionally, he/she will support the private company's insurance affairs in various capacities.


He/she will be responsible for overseeing strategic direction, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, managing finances, and providing overall governance to ensure the success of the captive entity.


He/she will be responsible for supervising, mentoring the team and ensuring that the Company's assets are insured adequately and that the relevant liabilities and exposures are appropriately monitored, mitigated and covered.


He/she will liaise with internal and external stakeholders. This includes various internal parties across all Business Units, brokers, underwriters, claims handlers, clients, vendors, etc., to discuss, negotiate, resolve issues, and provide advice in relation to insurance matters.


Key Duties:


  • Responsible for mentoring and managing the Group’s insurances across all Business Units, including Corporate, Offshore Production, Renewables, Green Technologies, and Marine. This includes the relevant corporate risk insurances, construction insurances, operational insurances, financing insurances, employee benefits insurance, and general insurances in relation to the relevant Business Units operating worldwide.
  • Involved in the overall insurance program. This includes providing guidance and support to the team in negotiating insurance procurement and placement, and reviewing insurance terms and limits to ensure that the company obtains adequate, compliant, and cost-effective insurance arrangements, and that they are placed or renewed in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the project's legal counsel to review tender documents, due diligence insurance documents, contracts, and charter parties. He/she will actively participate in relevant meetings to address insurance risks and provide clarifications or solutions based on industry best practices.
  • Responsible for the LCI departmental and the relevant Business Unit’s project budgets.
  • Provide support in identifying gaps in contractual terms to minimize risk exposures. They will also ensure that contractual obligations related to insurance are fulfilled and that any exceptions are appropriately highlighted.
  • Responsible for identifying new areas for improvement within the function.
  • Establish and nurture a high-achieving team while emphasizing ongoing development.
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly with key underwriters, Protection &
    Indemnity club, brokers, captive managers and etc.
  • Provide day-to-day support to stakeholders, clients, internal departments, subsidiaries, and associated companies regarding insurance matters or queries.
  • Provide support to the Head of Insurance and team members in relation to all insurance-related matters.
  • He/she will be prepared to undertake any ad-hoc duties that may be required.
  • QHSSE Duties – every employee shall:


o Take care of themselves and others who may be affected by their acts or oversights;


o Not interfere with or misuse anything supplied for their health, safety and welfare;


o Report quality related problems and HSSE hazards or deficits within their area to the QHSSE department;


o Promote and take part in the QHSSE continuous improvement process.


Requirements:


  • A degree from an accredited university is required.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in insurance and risk management.
  • Ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
  • Adaptability, proactiveness, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential qualities for this role.
